Founded by two photographers with distinctly different voices, editing styles, experiences, and perspectives - Unbound was born from a simple realization: there is no single way to create meaningful work.
We believe photography is about more than mastering settings, perfecting poses, or recreating what is already popular & trending.
Unbound was created for the photographer who knows there is more to their work.
It is learning to see.
& having the courage to trust what you see.
We aren't here to teach you how to photograph like us.
We're here to help you discover why you photograph the way you do.
Who are you when you are UNBOUND?
Here, you won't be asked to fit into someone else's definition of good enough. Instead, you'll be challenged to embrace your influences, trust your instincts, and cultivate a visual voice that feels unmistakably your own.
Because when you stop asking "How should I photograph this?" and start asking "How do I see this?" - something changes.
You stop chasing someone else's vision.
You stop measuring your work against someone else's success.

& you begin becoming more fully you.

Will we learn about posing and people skills at the workshop?
Absolutely- but probably not in the way you're expecting. We're less interested in teaching you a list of poses and more interested in teaching you how to see people.
We'll talk through directing, prompting, movement, connection, and creating space for genuine interaction so your images feel lived-in rather than staged.
Who is this workshop designed for?
Unbound is for the photographer who already knows the basics but feels ready to push beyond them. Maybe you've found yourself shooting the same way every session, following the "rules," or comparing your work to everyone else's. Maybe you know there's more creativity in you, but you're not quite sure how to access it yet. This is for the photographer who wants to experiment challenge their perspective, and create without feeling confined by what they think they're supposed to do.
Will there be live photo sessions with models or just demos?
This is a hands-on experience. You'll have the opportunity to photograph real families/models throughout the workshop, not simply watch us demonstrate from the sidelines. We want you to experiment, try something different, make mistakes, move around, change your perspective, and actually create.
There will be plenty of room to shoot, observe, ask questions, and see how two photographers can approach the exact same moment in completely different ways.
What gear should I bring?
Bring the camera you actually love to shoot with. Your favorite lens or two, memory cards, fully charged batteries, and anything else you normally need for a session. You absolutely do not need the newest or most expensive gear to get something out of this workshop. In fact, we'd much rather you bring the equipment you know well and spend the day(s) learning how to see differently with what you already have.
